Pitchfork Music Festival is an annual summer music festival held in Union Park in Chicago, IL. Typically held on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday toward the end of July, it focuses on indie/alternative artists and bands. Tasked with creating a brochure for the three-day festival, the twist for the students was to avoid using any existing elements from previous Pitchfork Music branding or design campaigns.

Brochures for all three days.

Brochures for each day used a starkly different color along with towering, custom-lettered numbers. This contrast between the brochures was intended to make it effortless for concert attendees to know the current schedule and avoid being confused by the previous day’s handout.

For individuals who are not well-versed with the bands and genres at Pitchfork, the back side of the brochure offers a fun and helpful flow chart to guide the concert attendees to the perfect bands.
